"This vest is really comfortable. It's also pretty warm! It's great for time outside and for wearing as an outer or intermediate later. It's definitely more of a jacket-style vest than an all-day vest. Plenty of pocket space as well."

"This is my second Mountain Khakis vest...I bought one a few years ago, but I've managed to lose enough weight that now I need a smaller size. Overall, I like the style, fit and warmth level. The zippers seem rugged, the seams are sealed well, and despite being lightweight, it's rugged enough that it seemed like it will last a long time. This is definitely a quality vest that's worth the price. Still, compared to my older vest, there are a few things I don't like. First, my older vest seemed to be the same fabric on the outside, but it was lined in a smooth nylon material...this one is more fleecy. I like the older style better - it slid on easier over bulky sweaters without "grabbing". The product description on the website does a poor job of clarifying what the lining is - I just expected it to be the same as my now three-year-old vest. Second thing is the pocket configuration. My older vest had a zippered breast pocket on the outside, a pair of two-way hand pockets and an inside breast pocket that was the ideal size and location for my phone. This one just has the pair of two-way hand pockets and two larger interior pockets placed low. I find the new design not nearly as convenient for carrying a phone or other items. I also find that the zippered entrance to the hand pockets are a bit awkward if you like to keep your hands warm in your pockets. Still, I think I'll be happy with my new vest - I've shopped extensively and haven't found anything better at any price."
